PROJECT OVERVIEW 

Seeking to demystify the home wireless network, content will provide instructive information on Wi-Fi products, usage and maintenance. It will contain simple overviews of various subjects, leading interested readers to more technical information. Content will skew heavily toward the educational category, but will also include evergreen, lifestyle, and B2B articles. 

CONTENT OBJECTIVES:

  • Drive site traffic through original, quality content.
  • Establish Linksys as an authority/thought-leader in the networking space by creating a library of useful content:
    • Inspire readers to share content socially 
    • Help lead readers towards an eventual purchase decision 
    • Sign up for Linksys.com e-mails

  • Accessible: Content should be easy to understand, using layman’s terms that even those new to tech would understand.
  • Friendly and Inviting: Linksys is a subject matter expert and trusted advisor, assisting readers with their technical needs. 
  • Creative: Content should use imagery and analogies to help break down complex concepts. 
  • Educational: Linksys content should fill in the gaps of consumer knowledge, simplifying the home networking storyline and making technical information relatable. 

WHAT LINKSYS CONTENT IS NOT: 

  • Overly complex: Though it may take on technical topics, content should not use language that caters exclusively to technology professionals.

  • Follow the Chicago Manual of Style — cross reference all technical terms (such as Wi-Fi) with provided Linksys style guide for exceptions.
  • Use the applicable Linksys trademark (™ or ®) upon first product mention:
    • The “Linksys Performance Perfected” logo has a registered trademark (®). “Performance Perfected” is only used in associated WRT and B2B products.
    • The term “Max-Stream” is trademarked (™). It is used on the line of MU-MIMO products. 
  • Do not reference competitors: Netgear, ASUS, TP-Link, D-link, Google On-Hub or Looma.
  • Be aware of the target audience for each content topic:
    • Connected family
    • Prosumer
    • B2B resellers (who sell to the end-users)
    • B2B end-users (small business owners)
  • The term “Wi-Fi” or “home Wi-Fi” should be used whenever possible to describe the home wireless network.
